Mildred’s Umbrella presents a reading of Terrence McNally’s hit play, Mothers and Sons, in honor of World AIDS Day.

Mothers is the critically acclaimed follow up to McNally’s 1988 work, Andre's Mother, and builds on that play’s plot of an estranged mother attending her son’s funeral after he has died from AIDS. In this second chapter, the mother, Katharine, returns to New York to deliver her son Andre’s journal to his former partner Cal and the encounter re-opens old wounds not just between Cal and Katharine, but between Cal and his new husband, Will.
