James Black

James Black is an Associate Director and Acting Company Member at Houston's Alley Theater.  As an actor, he has appeared in over 200 productions that have played here and across the U.S. and Europe.  He has performed on Broadway,  at the Royal National Theater in London, and the Biennale Festival in Venice. James is a proud product of Houston's local theater scene.

John Corley

John Corley is the Fine Arts Department Chair at Houston Community College Southwest and  Instructor, Voice and Diction.  John Corley grew up in southeast Houston. He was involved in theater and the arts from a very young age. He completed his Masters degree at the University of Houston. Upon completion of his degree, Mr. Corley came to Houston Community College's Central Campus in 1984. He produced memorable plays and musicals there before coming to Southwest College. John Corley taught Speech and Drama classes at Stafford when the Fine Arts Department was under Arts and Humanities. Over three years ago he became Chair of the Fine Arts Department. He continues to mount productions in the Annex Theatre at the Stafford Campus and, during the summer, at the George Library in Richmond, Texas. John Corley is known for his leadership among community college drama departments. He also provides valuable mentorship for community theatre groups like the Unity Theatre in Brenham, TX.
